Keyboard and mouse not responding at windows login page

I have recently built a custom pc, everything was going smoothly until the login page of windows 7. Upon reaching my USB devices seem to not work anymore. The issue seems to be an incompatibility between my OS and motherboard. I have enabled legacy USB tried a reformat on my hdd using dban but failed. I don't have a ps2 type mouse and keyboard to use as well.. I want to try installing windows 7 via USB but my hdd is running the OS alr will it have any effect on the hdd? Is there any other solution to this problem? Would really appreciate some advice from you guys =D Btw my pc parts are Asrock b250m mobo + i5 7500 Msi 1060 armour Corsair 2* 4gb ddr4 Sea sonic psu Sata 1gb hdd
